Photographing families year after year is one of my favorite parts of my job. What a joy it is to see families grow, add children, and form unique and beautiful bonds with each other.

This sweet family is one that I have had the privilege of photographing a few times now, and each time is such a special snapshot into the phase of life that they are currently in. This year, that was running through the tall grass, blowing dandelions into the air, and having the time of their lives doing it.

Traverse City Cherry Orchards

Being the Cherry Capital of the World, Traverse City is known for its cherries (duh, Anna) and cherry orchards. There’s just something so quintessential Traverse City about doing a session in an orchard. The gorgeous trees, the tall grass, the rolling hills…

This specific orchard is privately owned, but if you’ve never experienced the joy of walking through an orchard, whether for a photo session or to pick cherries, I highly recommend visiting one. There are many to choose from!
