Glen Arbor Family Photographer | Beach Session in Northern Michigan

Glen Arbor has a way of pulling families back year after year. The water, the dunes, the pace of it. For this family, it’s become their place, the one they return to when they need to slow down and just be together.

We started on the beach as the morning fog was just starting to clear over Lake Michigan. The flies had other plans though (as they sometimes do up here in early summer), so we made a quick pivot and headed to Cherry Republic.

That’s the thing about family sessions. They almost never go exactly as planned. And the best ones don’t need to.

By the end of our time together we had something I’m proud of. Real moments, genuine smiles, and a family exactly as they are right now, in the place they love most.

As a Glen Arbor family photographer, some of my favorite sessions happen exactly like this one did. A little unplanned, a little spontaneous, and completely real. The Leelanau Peninsula has so many beautiful pockets for family portraits, and Glen Arbor is one I keep coming back to.
