Maisey and Brant’s love story started on the track at Albion College in 2013, and over the past decade, they’ve built a life grounded in support, laughter, and shared adventure—from long-distance years and grad school, to buying their first home together in Tennessee (along with their beloved corgi, Fannie, and two mischievous kittens, Hopslam and Oberon).

So when their wedding day arrived in Northern Michigan—full of misty skies and steady rain—it felt like the perfect metaphor for the life they’ve already lived together: not always predictable, but full of beauty, joy, and unwavering commitment.

Held at the Lakeside Hotel at Shanty Creek Resort in Bellaire, the setting was incredibly meaningful. Maisey spent many summers nearby visiting her grandparents’ home, and the area has long felt like a second home. Despite the weather, these two were all in—they said their vows outside, surrounded by fog-draped trees and the people who mean the most to them. Every part of the day felt intentional and real, with the kind of easy love and humor that comes from being completely at home with one another.

Their coach from Albion officiated the ceremony (cue the tears). It was one of those days where the weather could have stolen the show, but instead, it only added to the magic—an atmospheric backdrop for a relationship that has already weathered so much, and only grown stronger through it all.
